Suzanne is a musical treasure that graces the Illinois River Valley. As I myself was once helped, (well, more or less taken under the wing ) by Chris Lewis and Patsy Sullivan, she nurtured countless area musicians by hosting a number of "open stages" in the Peoria area. She and I hold so many thoughts and memories in common, that there are no words to express that. I really felt honored that she made me her stand-in when she was unable to host the gigs, altho she always pretended it was a burden she foisted upon me. :)

Suzanne is "The Angel of Country" and her "Broken Halo Band" was a perfect combination for her. She has a perfect voice and is an excellent songwriter. And her guitar work is very tasty, not a bit of fill there. And Most people on meeting Suzanne seem to feel that she is so nice that it must be an act. "Nobody is that good." But I can attest that once you really know her, you will agree, that she is, exactly that nice. :) .... (love you suzi, did I say that right?) LOL...

Those who know her, remember the acts that attached themselves to her open stage nights, where everyone's birthdays and anniversaries were celebrated, as Suzanne involved herself in the lives of her friends. I felt like she always maintained a sincere appreciation for the talented, the untalented and the people who remained the loyal audience for the gigs-- Suzi's mother Camille, The Swansons, (Hilmer and Juanita), The Brantleys, Kenny and Connie Little and so many others...

A potpourri of faces passes through my mind; the regulars, some greats, some near greats, some hopelessly incompetent. But all under the wing of this angel... The Prairie Marksmen, Gary Swanson, Cordes the fiddle player, Linda Eddy and her father, Jake Menold...Ken Herrington, Al the Elvis Impersonator, the fat lady who got drunk, fell off the barstool and sat on Suzanne's Martin,,,, and myself, who someone made the remark about, "Well he's not that good, but damn, he just loves doing it so much!! LOL.....

God bless you Suzi.....
